A Singapore Street Food Celebration @ Paper Co. Houston

It hasn't rained today (at least I don't think it has ... I should probably step outside for a bit) but I've been here at the computer getting the next installment of scrumptious photos out of the Paper Co. kitchen ready for you all. This one I think felt a bit more personal. This was Paper Co.'s own popup dinner which gave it that feel for me, and I think it was personal for Dave as well. Dave Foong who is the Head Chef and Manager of Paper Co., and a native Singaporean put this feast on as an homage to his home and a celebration of 50 years of Singapore's national independence. Enjoy & make sure you get tickets to whatever the next popup will be! :-)

  • Kueh Pie Tee

  • Coconut Seafood Stew

Until the next time ...

More to come!

A Night in Sonoma County (Paper Co. + Catelli's)

It's been a rainy Saturday here in Houston. A chance for some quiet, a few cups of tea, and to finally catch up on the edit of this wonderful popup dinner by Chef Domenica Catelli hosted here in Houston by Paper Co. several months ago. I had forgotten how hungry editing these dinners makes me :-). Enjoy!

  • Seeded Loaf Crostini
with Spring Pea, Asparagus, Texas Ricotta and Basil
  • Organic Kale Salad
with Crushed Nuts, Parmesan, Citrus and California EVOO
  • Houston Farmers Market Beets
with Pistachio, Mint, Arugula and Goat Cheese
  • Smokey Creamy Polenta
  • Catelli's Famous Meatballs

Dinner was amazing and the amount of work that goes into these popups still boggles my mind! Huge thanks to Chef Catelli & the Paper Co. crew for once more having me along to document this.

Quick update - Paper Co. is now open for brunch on Monday through Saturday morning/early afternoon, and for dinner on Saturday & Sunday evenings!

More to come ...

The Shout: How Can We Be Whole?

This past Tuesday, the question was asked at The Shout - "How Can We Be Whole?" The photographs that follow were made that evening and are the responses of some of the participating artists, volunteers and attendees to the question of what they believe we need to be whole again, as individuals or as a collective.

It was an absolute pleasure making these photographs of you all! I know I wasn't quite able to get to photograph everyone but I'm grateful to those of you that I did for sharing a bit of yourselves and your heart with me. (Note: You can reach me at

A bit more information about The Shout for those of you wondering (from their website) - "The Shout is an ecumenical space that promotes the radical idea that justice and spirituality are inseparable from one another. Housed within the larger St. John’s UMC faith community, The Shout aims at taking seriously the injunction to 'love your neighbor as yourself,' and to do so in a way that promotes actions that echo throughout the city, the country, and the larger global community: 'Shout, do not hold back! Lift up your voice like a trumpet!'. ... Each month The Shout will be heard, incorporating different art forms (from poetry, visual art, photography, and music), as well as voices from different faith communities in a way that will speak to the injustices plaguing the Houston community, the national community, and the world at large."

You can find The Shout on Facebook and follow them in Instagram or Twitter.
