The Freckled Key - Summer Transitions (Part 2)

Welcome back! It took a bit longer than I had planned to get around to posting the photos from the second half of my shoot with Hannah. Looking at the gorgeous photographs following though, I'm sure you'll agree they were worth the wait :-)

As I mentioned in my previous entry about the first part of the photo shoot, Hannah & Scott are in the middle of a pretty extensive home remodel and so, this second part of our shoot was hosted by their dear friends and next door neighbors (… well, pretty much next door) Emily & Eric in their gorgeous and also recently redone home.

I had a fantastic time at this shoot and really, really love the images we got! A big thank you goes out to Emily & Eric for opening their home up to us. To Scott for being the awesome husband to Hannah that you are (and for buying her that beautiful dress so many years ago!). And the biggest thank you of all - thank you Hannah for being an awesome model, for facilitating the location logistics, for being patient through the shoot as we set lights up & took them down & changed them & tweaked them, and for hanging in there as the day got longer & tiring! Hugs & blessings!! :-)

The Freckled Key - Summer Transitions (Part 1)

I thought I'd share a peek at the lifestyle photo shoot I did with Hannah earlier in the summer. Hannah (and her husband, Scott) are dear friends and fellow photographers who own The Freckled Key Photography (named after Hannah) here in Houston. Hannah and I had talked briefly about doing a shoot earlier in the year, and we were finally able to make it happen over the summer.

So, "Summer Transitions"? Some of it is personal to Hannah & Scott (a beautiful mix of joy, hard work and profound change) but it just seemed apropos given that there is a fair bit of remodeling going on in their new home where we shot this part (the first of two), and that the room we photographed in is slated to be the nursery in the not too distant future :-)

Part 2 coming soon.

Update (Oct. 17, 2014): The 2nd Part of the shoot is now up.

Yoga at Sunrise

I had the pleasure of doing a lifestyle photo shoot with Jenny a few weeks ago on a lovely peaceful and quiet, if slightly muggy Texas summer morning. Jenny practices and teaches Yoga here in Houston and was kind enough to be up & about rather early so we could shoot a sunrise Yoga practice. A few of the photographs from the shoot are below and in addition to being an excellent and gracious model, she made a lifesaving and tasty carafe of coffee which was sorely needed given how early our call time was :-).

The location is the Menil Park, on the grounds of the Rothko Chapel and the sculpture you see there in the background is The Broken Obelisk (by Barnett Newman), installed at this site in 1970.
